Vetiveria zizanoides – from the root of a grass
100% essential oil – 12ml
Country of origin: Haiti
Size: 12ml glass bottle with dropper
Originating from India, Vetiver is a wild grass mainly found in tropical areas. The precious oil is distilled from the deep roots of the grass. It is known as the “Oil of Tranquillity”. It has a warm, earthy, pungent scent with a smoky undertone.
It is culturally known for its sedative and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used as an insect repellent and is used widely in men’s perfumery.
NOTE: This oil is very thick in consistency so you will need to remove the dropper to pour the oil. You can also warm the bottle in your hand which will help it to pour more easily.
HOW TO USE
I find vetiver deeply relaxing with a sedative quality which makes it a firm favourite for a bath at bedtime. I also like to use as a massage oil. It is a key ingredient in my Facial oil as it has regenerative properties.
Use a maximum of 6-8 drops of essential oil for every 20ml of carrier oil or water. I like to blend it with frankincense, cedarwood, lavender. Gorgeous in a bath with Epsom salts.
For external use only. Do not ingest. Do not use undiluted. Stop using if you experience an allergic reaction and seek medical advice. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical supervision. Not suitable for young children. Highly inflammable.
